In the spirit of fun and keeping things organized, I wanted to begin a new thread to track Jake's Grab Bag around the globe.

But first, a brief history...

In the beginning, there was Jake. And Jake was very kind and generous. And he started a Free Grab bag to the first person that responded to his post. And then in less than seven minutes, there was Larry.

Rizz came too late, but then Larry offered to share the grab bag with everyone! So the grab bag began its journey, from Washington to Boston, then to Maui before its trip to the United Kingdom.

Matt sent it off from the UK and back to the United States. Steve sent it to Bruce in South Carolina, then Bruce sent it to Jacqueline in Wales. Jacqueline sent it back to California to Liz, and then Liz sent it to "spaceman" Nick.

Here is the original thread. That thread has evolved into three different grab bags with three name lists.

At this particular time, we seemed to have "lost in space" the goodies which were destined for 'spaceman.' Spaceman, if you are out there, please update us and let the Grab Bag's journey continue.

Thanks again to Jake and Larry and all who have moved this package along the planet so far.

To make sending more reasonable, John Rochester suggested in the "big" thread to queue up for Jake's bag as follows:
  • Nick Deakin, UK (where it is said to be now)
  • Philip, Belgium
  • Frederic, Finland
  • May I squeeze in here? That would be Kirsten, Netherlands
  • John Rochester, USA (please send me your address)

Liz, thanks for the grab box and Rizz for keeping us all updated. I haven't really had time to look at the contents properly. I will of course be adding some items in the next couple of days. The box was sent June 5th and landed here on Friday I think as Ive been away. Its only a suggestion but what if I split the contents in two and post to the next two names on the list. If that's okay guys please e-mail your addresses. I'm only suggesting this because it is exciting to receive something to have a look at and a dib into and this will hurry it along to enable more collectSPACE'rs to enjoy all the sooner!

Look forward to your comments. I am away from tomorrow for two nights and will look forward to your replies by then.

Another idea its a pity a permanent box type packaging couldn't be organised to allow stamps etc from all over the world to be added as it circles the globe.

That might make this even more confusing.

My thought is that we stick to the original plan, and just keep passing it along to the next person in line, in a timely fashion.

Part of the fun is reporting what was taken out and what was put back in. Since I've already passed it on, I'll let others chime in...

Glad you finally received it Nick, and thanks for the post!

Agreed. I think we should all stick to the original plan. Seems as if it has been confusing enough to some. Lets try to stick to a 7-10 day turnaround in order to keep the fun and excitment going!

Hi Everyone! Such a big smile I got reading this thread, count me in! Mostly Apollo launch and recovery covers I can add if the box comes my way, salmon doesn't ship that well! (grin).

Let me know what to do!

If you go to the original link (top post), click, then read through the list of names, and add yours where appropriate, you'll be on the list! It might be a little confusing, but you'll figure it out.

Where's the bag now? Must still be within Europe.

All times are CT (US)
