Astronaut-astronomer Ronald Parise dies

An astronomer-turned-astronaut, who flew as a payload specialist aboard NASA's two shuttle missions dedicated to astronomy, Ron Parise, 56, died May 9 of a brain tumor after fighting the cancer for three years.

NASA rolls out space shuttle tires for loan
