Lot 003: Chicago Cubs Baseball Game with Astronaut James Lovell

Apollo 13 Commander James Lovell wants to take you out to a ballgame! As winning bidder, you and a guest will join Lovell at Wrigley Field in Illinois for a Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball game. For nine innings (longer if they tie!) you'll have a great view of the diamond from your suite and box seats and a chance to get to know an American icon.

Lovell is a veteran of four space flights, including the first manned space rendezvous, the last Gemini flight and the first manned voyage around the Moon. His final flight into space was adapted by Hollywood in the movie Apollo 13, where he was portrayed by Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks.

Whether you're a fan of the Cubs, baseball or space history this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance you do not want to miss!

The Cubs tickets were generously donated by Bill Gruber of United Financial, who is an avid supporter of the ASF.

This auction does not include transportation to or from, or accommodations near Wrigley Field. Game date selection is limited to Wednesday, August 31 or Wednesday, September 28, and is subject to James Lovell's availability. ASF reserves the right to disqualify the high bidder, to reject the high bid, and to accept a bid from a lower bidder, for any reason within their discretion, which shall be exercised in good faith. The winning bidder of this event will be required to submit proof of identity and may be subject to a background check.
