Jeffrey A. Hoffman published a brief account of his mission 51-D aboard Discovery in 1986. Its title was "An Astronaut's Diary." Included was a 20-minute audio cassette with recordings he made during the mission. I have lost my cassette and wonder if it has been digitized and is it available on the internet? Thanks. |

Many years ago, I purchased the book and cassettes directly from Hoffman. My advice would be to reach out directly to him to see if he still has any available. They were a remarkable insight into experiencing a space mission in real time... |

The program was originally produced for National Public Radio by Anne Gudenkauf. Doing a quick Google search, looks like she left NPR just a few years ago. I couldn't immediately find contact info for her, but you could try reaching out to NPR if you Hoffman doesn't have any. Also, I knew about the tape (which was "Astronaut's Journal") but not the book, "An Astronaut's Diary". If you do talk to Hoffman and he has copies he's looking to sell, let me know. |

I am not sure about a 20 minute tape but I have the entire NPR production which runs about 90 minutes. Is that what you are looking for? |
