There are three weeks until the 50th anniversary of the historic first steps on the Moon on July 20, 1969.

The images contained in First Steps: Apollo Photography Vol. I, Apollo 7 through Apollo 11 on a commemorative Apollo Saturn V rocket custom USB have been fully restored from new JSC scans and are the highest resolution, highest quality collection of images available anywhere.

Apollospace images are 60% larger by pixel size than images available on DVD or online, and each Apollospace image holds 10-30 times more information than comparable images!

For comparison, the Apollo 9 High-Res Image Library's mission flight photos available on DVD comprise only 1.4 GB of data, or about one-fourth of the DVD. The Apollospace First Steps Ultra-High resolution mission photos on our Saturn V USB currently available on Indiegogo comprise 15.9GB (1,590MB) of data – that's 4 DVDs worth of information for the flight images from that flight alone! The Apollospace Apollo 9 images contain more than 12 times the data than comparable images found on the DVD. The average data size of the images on the DVD is generally less than 10% of the size of the Apollospace images. You can read a comparison of Apollospace images with other images on our website.

But seeing is believing. Here is an image from Apollo 9 of the Dallas-Fort Worth region from another source (2292 pixels and 2MB in size):

Compared with the same Apollospace image (5000 pixels and 26GB in size):

A version of AS09-19-3035 (2992 pixels, 2MB) available elsewhere:

The Apollospace version of AS09-19-3035 (5000 pixels, 30MB!):

But you don't have to take my word for it. You can download any three mission downloads for free – potentially hundreds of examples to look at for yourself. Just use the coupon code: 3FREEMAGS at checkout to download high-resolution images (3600 x 3600 pixels) and compare to anything online or elsewhere. And then get the 5000 pixel images on a really cool USB you can plug into a TV or computer at the introductory price of just $50 through our Indiegogo First Steps campaign.

I used the proposed code and ordered 3 magazines for download. The code was accepted, the invoice was created showing 0.00 USD, but there was no information how to download. I then wrote an email to the above poster and since three days I wait for any reply.

The examples for the image processing look impressive, but for me the offer is not working, which disappoints me. Does any other cS member have a clue what to do or other experiences?

I was away on vacation with no internet access over the holiday. I have responded to your email with download directions as well as direct links in case you have any issues.

Here's the deal, unless I am in a remote log cabin with no internet access and intermittent phone service, I respond to emails within 24 hours (and usually within one).

Only a few folks have downloaded the free magazines, which is a real shame. Four years ago when I got a law job that allowed me to actually have a life again, I got back into the business of "space." I did a thorough review of every available Apollo image source and archive and realized that no definitive collection of fully restored images yet existed. Thousands of hours of incredibly tedious, but amazing and gratifying work later, that definitive collection now exists, an entirely unique collection of images from the newest JSC scans, each individually caressed by those Photoshop tools.

Seriously, if you have any interest in Apollo photography at all, have ever wished all the Apollo 10 images were available in ultra-high resolution, ever wanted to enlarge a photo to feet, not just an 8x10, then you should take advantage of the free magazines (or missions, every image from Gemini 6 is available too).

After you order the magazines you want and use the code, the screen will show the order details. After each magazine it says download with a blue highlighted magazine number. Click that, the magazine will start downloading. You will also get an email and can click the links there to download.

And then take advantage of the First Steps collection for only $50 through my Indigogo campaign. There are only 12 days left.

You will not be disappointed.

There is one more day to take advantage of this campaign and get the finest collection of Apollo flight images available — every image from Apollo 7 through 11 in ultra-high resolution and fully cleaned and restored — all for just $50.

We spent a minimum of between 15 - 60+ minutes restoring each image — which you can get in this collection for less than 1-cent each. I think that's an amazing bargain — I also think you'll be amazed at what you've not seen all these years. Thanks for looking!
