Direction-Space! Photography by Maria Gruzdeva with Matthew Shaul
Gagarin's name is still synonymous with the Space Race and Russian space exploration. Direction-Space offers a new insight into a subject central to the Cold War history of the Soviet Union, and raises questions over attitudes and perceptions.
Half a century after the legendary flight, Gruzdeva looks at two central sites: Star City and Baikonur.
