About the Author Eric Caubarreaux was born in Lafayette, LA in 1965 and was raised in Marksville, LA. After high school he entered the U.S. Air Force in 1984 and served until 1988 as an assistant crew chief on the SR-71, the world's fastest conventional jet-powered aircraft. In 1988 he joined the Air Force Reserve and was a crew chief on an A-10. He would later served in the Louisiana Army National Guard and work on UH-1 helicopters. He currently resides in Lafayette, LA. During his military service he earned the following: Air Force Commendation Medal; Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters; Air Force Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Humanitarian Service Medal; Air Force Longevity Service Award; Air Force NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon; Air Force Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon; Air Force Training Ribbon; Army Service Ribbon; and the Louisiana Cold War Victory Ribbon.
