Okay, some more details. This is a book that I made myself using one of the online services. It will be hardbound, 28x22cm. The book will have 52 pages. I didn't want to do any more, because otherwise it would become too expensive. Because of the low numbers that are printed, it will be kind of expensive anyway. I estimate that the price will be around 50 or 60 dollars. I completed putting the book together this weekend, but I haven't actually held one in my hands yet. The quality will probably be good enough to go ahead and offer it for sale, but I'll have to wait (perhaps another week) until I have actually seen it. And yes, I can sign copies if you want (at no extra charge, of course). |

Ed, sign me up for a two signed copies. One is a Christmas present. Also if there are so few books consider numbering them like prints (1/50, 2/50. 3/50... 50/50).Maybe I can afford an original Hengeveld painting someday. |

As I have not actually seen the results yet, I will have to wait until I receive the first copy before I can judge the quality of the online service. I hear various stories about that, some good and some bad, so I want to see for myself before I offer it for sale. I hope that will take about a week.I do like the idea of keeping the total numer of copies limited and offering numbered (and signed, of course) copies. |

Okay, a quick estimate would learn us for sure that 50 copies would sell immediately on collectSPACE.com.So one hundred copies would be a nice limited number. As Ed probably has to pre-finance the whole thing, serious buyers could pay in advance... |

Tim, my man, one of these days we must make a co-production...There won't be too much text in the book. It is all illustrations, with some captions here and there explaining certain points. And it will contain all the comic pages I did... As an example, here are pages 18-19. |

Okay, Hengeveld-fans. I am ready to take orders for the 'Ed Hengeveld SPACE ART' book.As I have explained, this is a privately produced, limited edition book. The size is 22x28,5cm and it has 52 pages. The book is in color, hardcover and contains a selection of space artworks that I made from 1990-2008. It contains my very first serious space artwork, as well as my most recent one and anything in between. Also included are all the Apollo 11 graphic novel pages that I made. Because of the limited edition, the book isn't cheap and I apologize for that. The fixed price will be 65 euros (or 85 US dollars) per book with priority mail included. The added postage makes it a bit more expensive than I mentioned before. This is unfortunate, but beyond my control. Books will be numbered and signed. If you have any special requests for signing, let me know. The number of copies that is printed will depend on the number of orders, but I expect it will not be more than 100. Maybe I will only receive 25 orders because of the high cost, but that should only make the book more exclusive. I will take orders until November 17 and then I will give the go for printing the books. I don't want to wait much longer, because it will probably take about four weeks to order them, receive them, sign and number them and ship them out. Some of you mentioned Christmas and I hope you will receive your copy before then, but I can not promise this with 100% certainty. Orders can be made by sending me a mail at: heng44@yahoo.com (please mail me anyway, also if you have already let me know that you want a book; because of the higher price you may have changed your mind). Payment should be made in advance, at the same time you mail me. I strongly prefer PayPal, because that is the easiest way for me. If you don't have a PayPal account, perhaps you have a friend who does. If you absolutely can't do PayPal, mail me and we can discuss options. I can send you the information you need to do a direct bank transfer. I'd rather not get checks, because of the high cost of cashing these with a Dutch bank. Sorry for any inconvenience. If there are any more questions, feel free to mail me. |

Now for me, after almost ten years of collectSPACE.com, this must be the number 2 highlight in publications & multimedia (number 1 being the Spacecraft Films releases).I hope Ed can keep us updated on the number of books that will be ordered/printed and we're looking forward to this superb book... Thanks again Ed! |

The number of firm orders is now 20. I expect a few more this weekend and I will order a few extra for my family, so it looks now that the total number of copies will be 30.The book is expensive enough as it is, so I did not intend to make any money with it. Breaking even is fine with me, because I see it as 'a service' for the Hengeveld-fans out there. This is a one-man operation and it is quite a chore (for me, at least), so after the November 17 cutoff date I will not take any more orders. This is a one-time offer... |
