Make that 21. Yeah, I did not have Christmas in mind when I made the book, so the planning could have been better... |

I signed up for one. I figure if Ed becomes 1/100th as successful as that other Dutch painter, then my children's children's children will have one very valuable book. |

Douglas, you have to wait until I'm dead OK, this is the official end of the signing-up period. The total number of copies printed will be 50 (to get a nice round number). I guess that isn't bad at all and I want to thank everybody who ordered one. |

Well, the books are ordered so now we have to wait until I receive them. In the meantime I'll go shopping for packing materials. For a non-profit project this sure is a lot of work |

I pray that Ed's wrist doesn't cramp up from signing all of those books. I know how my wrist felt when I did the mortgage docs for my house. I wonder how these astronauts do it? |

Remember the name is spelled "H-e-n-g-e-v-e-l-d." No fair cheating and using your autopen. |

And Ed is spelled E-D. Do not cheat and only write the easy Hengeveld. Please do not forget to number the copies like prints 1/50, 2/50 ... 50/50. These are already collector's items. Will there be a second printing? I am saving up for an Ed Hengeveld original painting. Keep me in mind when another becomes available. The other choice is email me prices for commissions. |

With a sigh of relief I have signed the last book. They are all packed and ready to go. Now I have to ask my dear wife to go to the post office on Monday, because I have to go to work.I was signing the books with sweaty palms, because I didn't want to mess up the numbering or the inscriptions. Some wanted specific numbers, some wanted a signature and nothing more, some wanted a special inscription, some wanted to have me sign on the inside cover, etc. And then I had to make sure that a book signed 'to Alex' ended up in the package addressed to Alex and not in the package for Jim. Man, my fans wear me out! By the way, for those that didn't specify any special wishes I just numbered and signed the books. I dedicated the book to my father, who put me in front of the TV to watch the launch of Apollo 8. My interest in spaceflight can be traced back to that Saturday afternoon in December 1968 (afternoon here in The Netherlands, that is). The books arrived yesterday about an hour before our 'Sinterklaas' party, which is the Dutch variation to Christmas presents. So I was able to present my dad with the first copy. My mother called me today to say that he has been leafing through it all day and that she had been reading it in bed last night. It was nice to hear they are so proud. I didn't think it would make such an impact. Thanks to everybody for their support and I hope you will enjoy the book. Now, let's start the first painting for 'Ed Hengeveld SPACE ART: the sequel'... |

Glad, you "only" had 50 copies? quote: Now, let's start the first painting for 'Ed Hengeveld SPACE ART: the sequel'...
I knew it. That explains the look on the picture. Ed's probably thinking "man, what's it going to be next time when I'll be done with my 500-page, softcover, for $25 book? (Sorry I missed the book, it was yours or comics purchase...) |

Oh boy, I'm not forgiven, then... What's going to happen to me? I'm seeking advice to avoid the Dutchman's wrath... One is indeed by Jean Van Hamme (Lady S.). Am I partly forgiven? |

I didn't know you did some Star Trek and Star Wars art works as well!Great to see the Jupiter original and a photo of Ed at work near the end of this excellent book!!! |
