NASA History Division release quote: Four series from the NASA Headquarters Historical Reference Collection have been digitized and made available in a new on-line database for use by researchers. The database is now available through the History Division web site. Included are PDFs of Press Kits, Press Releases, Mission Transcripts, and Administrators' Speeches. Researchers may use either the Basic Search or Advanced Search to access these. The HQ History Division staff has digitized all press kits, press releases, mission transcripts, and Administrators' speeches that were available to them in the Historical Reference Collection. Links are provided to other sources where similar and/or additional information may be found.

THIS MADE MY DAY!!! I found my dad!!!Forgive my excitement, but every year around this time I really miss my late-father. And so I usually go to the NASA History Office online and search for his name, and usually NOTHING comes up, which just feels like a huge empty hole in my belly. But today, thanks to this news, wham-bam-BINGO! There he is!! My dear dad, Hiden Cox, finally clear as day on page 2 of a Headquarters Press Release from Dec. 1961. Yaaaaayy!!! Nothing could have made me happier today than to see this! |

blue_eyes, email NASA History Office! I'm sure that this will make their day as well. Chris (and I don't have anything to do with all this, by the way). |

When I click on any of the four database links, I get this: quote: Webtop Warning Your requested page is not available or an error has occurred. Please double check your URL and try again. You will be forwarded to the homepage in 5 seconds, if this does not occur please click on the Home link on the menu bar.

It had been working this morning but I get the same error message now. Hopefully, it's just a minor issue and access will be restored soon. |

Wow, perfect timing for me as well since I need to do some of my own research here pretty soon. And having access to archives online will make my job potentially easier. |

Hey Anne, that must have been a very special moment for you! I wish I had known your father at that time. Being in public affairs he would have been a great contact for me...Ed |
