Hey all-I was in my local Borders this past weekend and their bargain books section featured a leather-bound edition of "Mars: Uncovering the Secrets of the Red Planet" by Paul Raeburn & Matt Golombek. This was published by The National Geographic Society some years back & featured imagery from the Pathfinder/Sojourner mission. It includes several 3-D panoramas (and the glasses to view them.) This edition (I bought two) is bound in black leather with gold emobossing and gilt-edged pages and comes in a heavy cardboard mailing box, and Borders had them for $2.99 each! No doubt some of the text has been obsoleted by the results of more recent missions, but this is still a gorgeous book. I know not all Borders stores have it, but I figured some members here might appreciate the heads-up on an awesome deal. Kevin |

I admit it. I bought six for presents. Some are in their original shipping boxes, and are gold embossed with attached red cloth bookmarks! A great buy. JM Busby |

Thanks for the tip- I just got a Borders gift card for an end-of-the-school-year present, so I'll check out Borders later this week. I am guessing that most people already have their copies, but I finally bought my copy of "First Man" last week at Barnes and Noble for $5.99. Steve |

I've seen it in a couple of Borders' stores. It's going to be in the discount section and probably won't be listed in their inventory, so no point in asking a clerk (the discount stuff usually doesn't get put in the computer in the same way). But you should be able to find it. |
