I just ordered the revised edition as a physical book. It appears the Kindle edition of this book has not been revised and updated. Is that correct Mr. Woods? Thank you. |

As far as I know, Amazon have not yet updated the Kindle version to the second edition. I think that would be worth a note to the publishers and I'll get onto that right now.Must say, I still like the 'dead tree' version! |

For an important book like this I prefer both versions. The book for my home and the e-book so I likely have access to it anywhere if I want to look up something. I'm looking forward to the expanded edition. |

My copy arrived yesterday. Is there a list of the revised sections - I'd like a quick way to look at those. Thank you. |

I haven't included a list of revisions because there are many detail changes and additions; e.g. discussion of S-II insulation or descent engine throttle instability to name just two. Most important is the addition of major sections on the exploration of the lunar surface covering topics as diverse as the gearing of the LRV and techniques for rock sampling. That's great news your copy has arrived. I hope you like it. |

Springer confirmed to me that the new edition of the book would be available on Kindle, most likely to the exclusion of the first edition. |

This is my first time with any edition of this book, and I am learning a lot that I didn't know (and I thought I knew a lot). I think the color pictures from the Moon add a lot. So many books use black and white... |

Just to say, if anyone is interested, I'm happy to sign copies of my book. See the book's website for more. |

I am attending Sy Liebergot's talk at Pontefract in Yorkshire on Saturday 10 September along with David Harland. I won't bring copies of my book with me but will be happy to sign copies that anyone might bring along. Just look for the beardy guy with specs. |

About a decade ago I read a very good book by David West Reynolds called "Apollo: The Epic Journey To The Moon". One thing I recall from that book was that for the first time I read about the details of the moon landing and there was a diagram of the final landing phase and something called 'high gate'. He didn't completely explain what it was or its significance but I always remembered it. And I always wanted to learn what is was, and why. And now I know.W. David Woods "How Apollo Flew To The Moon" is one of the BEST Apollo books I've ever read — and I've read a few. It's not about the astronauts and it's not about the history. I've read those. It's about exactly HOW they actually FLEW to the moon. And it's written in a way that I could understand it. Yes, it really IS rocket science. From PADS to COAS to TLI (and TEI), all explained and quite well. This is a MUST READ for all Apollo and spaceflight fans. I even read parts to my 9 year old son and he understood it (and said 'that's pretty cool'). Bravo Mr. Woods... and thank you. And just a note on the trials and tribulations of reading library copies. I started out with the newest edition but could not finish it before it was due. I found another copy at another library but it was a copy of the original edition. I finished that one but am going to go back to re-read it now that the newer edition is available to me again. |

David, I too thoroughly enjoyed HAFTTM. I had a library copy to read, but have been looking for a signed copy for my library. Have you made signed copies available and how can I get one? |
