Today (May 15), the molding area and its adjacent bay in one of the oldest shops of the RSC Energia’s Experimental Machine-building Plant were turned into a film set for shooting a scene in the feature film entitled S.P. Korolev. The Chief Designer.

The film is being produced by the Master film studio with an active participation of S.P.Korolev RSC Energia within the framework of activities planned by the Federal Space Agency to mark the 100th anniversary of the outstanding scientist and engineer, the chief designer of the rocket and space systems, the pioneer of space flight, academician Sergei Pavlovich Korolev.

The film is to be released in January, 2007. The director and the script writer is Y.V.Kara.

S.P.Korolev is played by Sergei Astakhov, I.T.Kleimenov is played by Roman Madyanov.

To support the shooting of the movie, the Corporation has built and provided to the studio a full-scale mockup of the GIRD-09 rocket.
