The "Twins of Gemini" and the Shuttle, "You Were There" pieces are chalk and pencil, the Apollo, "Houston We Have An Artist" piece is acrylic done in Al Bean style on wood.

Me Too.. "Houston, we have an artist" is a really nicely thought out piece!! I wonder if Al has ever seen it, if not..he should. I think he'd get a chuckle..

Joe-

Let me echo Ed's comments. You've done an outstanding job! Has Al Bean seen the "Houston...we have an artist?"
Your attention to detail is excellent.

I love the paint pallet in place of the wrist checklist on the Al Bean inspired painting! Excellent Joe! Has Bean seen this?

Best,
Bruce

Thank you for the kind words. It is nice to be able to share my interest in the space program with other, especially kids.
Ed it was seeing your work on cS that inspired me to show some of my pieces. I enjoy seeing your work.
Al Bean has not seen my "Houston We Have An Artist" piece. I am not sure how I would make contact to show him. I wish that I had the bucks to buy one of his orginals. I really like his work.
Thank you.
Joe

The odd textures you see in the "Houston We Have An Artist" painting are pieces of my space artifact collection that I put into the paste that was first applied to the plywood then painted over. There is a Apollo CM LiOH cannister impression, an Apollo Heavy duty lift off switch impression, a GSE nitrogen valve impression, an electrical plug impression and some heat shield material.
I didn't have an Apollo boot or hammer to texture the paste so I used the next best thing.
