Col. Worden has asked me to pass on that he will now accept items throughout the year to be signed. Rules and prices are reprinted below. If you need/want anything signed simply contact me and I'll take care of it. I would appreciate greatly your emailing me direct first to discuss the item(s) and so I can send you an order form. We will still hold an annual event of sorts, but you no longer have to wait "until next year". Also, there is now a "beta" version of our site with Col. Worden's art for sale. I've been asked by a ton of folks about it, and have actually sold about 15 pieces in the last couple of weeks (it is going fast and is limited edition). The site is in the early stages but the info is there: http://www.upney.com/Al/index.html You can look at what we will be offering with attendant pricing. This does NOT include shipping - that will be determined by the media you purchase it on. Also we are not equipped to take credit cards at present, but we can take Paypal until we do, or of course, checks and money orders. I personally absolutely ADORE these lunar images on canvas, and thats what I bought. The rough surface of the canvas makes it look almost 3 dimensional, almost like a REAL lunar surface. Cheers! Al The fee structure for Col. Worden's custom signing is as follows: Basic Signature (includes photos up to 11x14, covers, books and other small items and single signature items only) $50 Apollo 15 completion items (including books where its a sole completion): $100 Multi signed items, specialty and large items (pics over 11x14, beta clothes and bulky things): $75 Personalizations (to someone specific) Free BUT single signature fee applies. Lengthy inscriptions: $10 per word (Date(s) of mission $10 flat also) His book(s): $10 Adding Apollo 15 CMP: $5 IP: Logged |

John,I can vouch for Al as a middle man on this, if that's what it turns out to be. I have been VERY happy with my transactions. He's a personal friend of Col. Worden and he's the best reason he all have for getting our Apollo 15 memoribillia signed by Worden. I'm sure you'd find dozens of other recommendations from other CS members. I believe its been common knowledge for a couple of years now that I have been handling his custom signings. People have taken advantage of friendships and snuck some through but that won't be happening anymore. There may be an occasional appearance where you could get him for free but Im not aware of where these may be free, unless it's THROUGH the Astronaut Hall of Fame. The point of this posting is that for the last 2 years he has done an annual signing only. I have convinced him to do it ongoing through the year instead of a once annual deal, and as such and as through the signings, it goes through me - sent directly to him it will be returned. Pretty self explanatory. Thanks for the kind words from SC! Al IP: Logged |

Al,I realize you have been handling Col. Worden's "annual" signings for the past year or so. My question was if going through you was the only avenue to get a custom item signed (a simple question.) And according to you...it is....question answered. As far as the rest of your snide reply, I'd be happy to address that, if you wish. But before you continue, at least have your facts straight. It isn't a matter of cost or logistics, just procedure. Again, a simple question. john IP: Logged |

Every once in a while I meet someone who just blows me away with their charater, composure, style, and accomplishments... Al Worden is one of those people. (The Aurora Galleries auction was were I had the pleasure to converse with him for a while...) Very cool man. Thanks Al (the OTHER Al) for hosting the signing services for him. It's a good thing for the "space apreciation" community.------------------ Jake Schultz - curator, Newport Way Air Museum (OK, it's just my home) IP: Logged | |
