So last April, my friend Pam Rodgers Hill, the president of the Wheeler Historical Museum, asked if they could use my painting for a new billboard promoting the city as the birthplace of the late Alan Bean. The museum's exhibit dedicated to him has several of his personal artifacts on display.
Of course I said yes!
The challenge was scaling up an 18-by-24-inch painting to 25 feet wide by 10 feet high. The solution, Pam took a high res photo of the painting and I scaled it up to a 18mb canvas.
Today Pam send me a photo of the billboard. To say I'm delighted is an understatement. Thank you Wheeler, Texas!
