This photo (from this thread) is an aerial view of the same location. It was taken around the same time because many of the parked vehicles seen in the ground photos can also be seen in the aerial photo. The Mustang, the camper vehicles, the billboard, the church steeple, the water towers, the construction crane and the wooden sign on the shoreline can all be seen in the aerial photo. It says "Cable Crossing" on the wooden sign. |

Sorry, I am still here and I missed this post. I have not been on the collectSPACE forum for quite a while and did not see this until today. I'm upset with myself cause the things your mentioning are exactly correct. I zoomed on the third picture of the link you sent which is the picture in your post. I appreciate this as its what I have been looking for but still searching for the video of the chopper. I am going back to your link and can I still get an enlargement of this photo as you mentioned and where do I get that from Flickr? I'm not sure of the cable crossing showing on the print (?) someone added that I do not see the billboard but that is the exact location. I see the square on the east side of the red truck with the white cab and the boat on top a beam the cable crossing this is us sitting on a blanket, not that I can see the detail but that is where we were sitting. One question: someone sent me a picture with lines connected to my prints and leading to what was probably the position in a picture similar to this one but the orientation is from the west looking east. I don't know how or who sent it. I noticed it on my Google Drive which I hardly use but it was sent pre-COVID January 2020. I need to go back and check my emails but I have no knowledge of where this came from. It looks like the short clip on the 50th anniversary movie "Apollo 11" but its not enough to the east. Okay, thanks again for this info I really appreciate it it's been a long journey and it's not over yet! |

Super job done by LM-12. I went to Flickr and saw the photo and you can zoom in to make that all out. I can see us sitting to the east of the red and white truck with the boat on top. I cannot see faces or figures but the square just to the side and all the other items are just like my photo. I wonder how zoomed in one can go if they have the 50MB picture or negative with like Adobe or some other program. I just need the aerial video from the chopper that flew by and I might have it, so close yet so far. I appreciate the time and effort LM-12 did on this I just wish I saw it sooner. I hope he sees my post. Thanks LM-12. It's sad that the photographer is unknown. He had to have special permission to fly around to get those photos and had to know what he was doing. |

I just want to update what I re-read from LM-12 and OLY. There is mention of seeing the red taillight that caught your attention. This photo is taken looking to the west. The first few seconds of the movie from the chopper is looking to the east so you would not see the taillight? I have been contacting the National Archives in Maryland and they have a 70 mm film, which is being delayed from being rendered for public viewing at the archives. I feel this movie might have what I am looking for. The movie this clip came from is probably a 16 or 35 mm film which also may have come from the archives but not sure. I do have a question — I have a new picture of my viewing site better than what you have seen so far. I am wondering since you mentioned about de-hazing and clearing up the fuzz in my picture could you do that to the new picture I will be posting soon from an aircraft that morning? It's in a 160 mb size. Is that possible? or anyone else with that technology? I got to get serious about finding this video before it's too late or maybe it is. Someone has to know where it is and next, I will be contacting the people involved with the Apollo 11 2019 movie as some of the video of the crowd is very near where I was. There were not many if any other helicopters flying over us that morning filming, I just have to find the one. Thanks again for any help and open to further comments. |

The 70mm film you learned about from the National Archives and the film that was used in the 2019 documentary "Apollo 11" are one and the same. I was a historical consultant on the film. The team behind "Apollo 11" is working with the National Archives to make the source footage available to the public, but there are both technical and negotiated legal constraints. |

Picture #8 in this Orlando Sentinel Apollo 11 gallery was taken on July 16, 1969. It is a low-res photo looking in the opposite direction of the high-res photo seen in my 10-30-2021 post. |

Maybe! It depends upon the format and quality of the image, and how many times it has been saved or transferred. You can always try! |

I appreciate the comment from Mr. Pearlman.Sir did you also work with Mr. Dan Rooney at the Archives? I have been informed that there might have been some 16/32mm film used for the "Apollo 11" movie in 2019. Could you verify this for me? I'm waiting patiently for info on the 70mm film and cannot get a straight answer what footage was used for the movie. I was also told there are several files already rendered and on file that I could view that have scenes of spectators in them. No verification if any were used in the 2019 movie. It has been difficult to get access with COVID and limited availability at the Archives. Mr. Pearlman I would really like to talk to you just to verify what info you might be able to inform me of in my hunt for this footage of the spectators which I know is out there just prior to the J.C. Penney's shot of people dangling their feet over the water bulkhead. I have the picture of the chopper by us and going directly to J.C. Penney's. I am not up to speed on this forum but can you message or email where I could discuss this with you since you have all this knowledge I'm looking for. I have run out of people to contact and will not give up this until I have tracked it down. I do have a still photo that I can make out the truck and blanket we were sitting on but then it gets fuzzy. The file size is 160mb and I'm also hoping some wiz with the right software can defuzz it enough but I'm not sure it's possible. Thanks again for all everyone's help in my search for a film clip going by my family and the kid on the billboard. I hope to hear more from you. |

So where or who can I get to look into my best photo and largest size to see if they can get a better image out of the print or negative?I still have hope that yes it probably is on the 70MM film from the 2019 documentary but I have seen some other pieces of footage with the chopper and the area of the Cable sign billboard just where we were, these could not be from the 70M footage as it is not made public. I'm hoping that I will find something more with the 16/32mm footage the archive already has public. The shot I am looking for is just seconds away more then once on a recent NASA tv channel special on the Apollo 11 launch and landing so the film is out there its a matter of how I can get a hold of it, there is more footage on it then has ever been shown. I am not giving up! Any ideas or possibilities are always welcome. Thanks. |
