The Cosmos Discovery World Exhibition is opened from Sept. 12, 2016 and will last till Jan. 10, 2017 at Incheba Expo in Bratislava. It is organized in cooperation with Cosmosphere in Kansas, NASA and other agencies. On the area of more than 3000 square meters, there are more than 200 original space exhibits plus mockups of both manned and unmanned spaceships and space probes. The exhibition covers the history of the manned spacefligt starting with Vostok, Mercury and Voskhod programs, next hall is dedicated to the moon programs — Apollo on the U.S. side and Luna on the Soviet side, then comes the Skylab, Soyuz and Salyuts part, space shuttles, ISS and finally the future — Mars.
Each hall is full of flown and unflown hardware, documents, photos and all is accompanied by the continuously running video projections.
The most impressive exhibit is the part of the F-1 engine combustion chamber recovered from the Atlantic recently. According to the organizers, this is the first time ever some part of the F-1 recovered engine(s) left the United States.
There is also John Glenn's Friendship 7 1:1 mockup in amazingly detailed workout, flown spacesuits and flight overalls of Jim Lowell AS-13, Dave Scott AS-15 and Steven Hawley´s STS 61-C flights.
And a lot of other things, both small and big. I was there today with my family and we had a great time.
