Image taken this past Saturday (March 22) from the Huntsville Botanical Gardens near the US Space and Rocket Center (vertical Saturn is a full-scale display).

Last year at Camp we toured the Gardens, which are absolutely beautiful and serene. I'd been going to camp for a number of years and didn't even know the Gardens existed. Thanks for the great shot!

So you put a flame trench under the rocket that deflects the exhaust away from the flowers.

One of my favorite views is from the opposite side of the rocket -- leaving Marshall, you have the sight of what appears to be a Saturn V in a cowfield. Very Huntsville.

Heh, I love my hometown. Such a bizarre dichotomy of science and, well, rural Alabama. I love coming down 565 west, and seeing the Saturn V off in the distance.

Well, that and the golf ball water tower. Heh.

All times are CT (US)
