On March 2, 1962, astronaut Wally Schirra attends the rollout of Atlas 107D at the General Dynamics plant in San Diego. This Atlas was scheduled to launch MA-7. At that time Schirra was backup to prime pilot Deke Slayton, who was replaced by Scott Carpenter two weeks later.
