NASA and McDonnell technicians close the hatches of the Gemini 6 spacecraft in the white room atop Pad 19 during the prelaunch countdown at Cape Kennedy, Florida. Astronauts Wally Schirra and Tom Stafford were launched at 8:37 a.m. EST on December 15, 1965.

That is a great Gemini picture that I have never seen before. Thanks.

Great shot Ed! And it is a testament to how cramped the Gemini cockpit could be – there is stuff (I’m guessing stowage bags and/or part of Schirra’s suit) smushed right up against the window!

It is launch day, December 15. I think what we see in the window is Schirra's right arm and Stafford's left arm both reaching up.
