Space Cowboy - astronaut Buzz Aldrin holds a Black & Decker minimum reaction space tool, which was being studied for use during the Gemini program at the time this photo was taken in mid-1964. |

I also came across this photo of Buzz Aldrin in what appears to be a Gemini G-2C pressure suit when I was doing research on my father's suit (previous post). After enlarging the photo there appears to be a piece of black tape over the name tag. I found this interesting as I had not located my father's suit at that time. I was looking for the Laine name on the suit. Perhaps Buzz was using someone else's suit to do the Black and Decker photo shoot. I too wish that all these suits were preserved. The suit made for my father, CWO Charles O. Laine is G-2C-2. It is being stored at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville Alabama. I continue to look for his gloves: GG-2C-2 and helmet: GH-2C-2. My goal is to have his suit put on display and am currently working to make this happen. I want to thank the collectSPACE community for all the support given and continuing to share interests in the space program. Be well. |
