Air Force AMU-specialist Ed Givens is participating in a test of the Gemini-9 Astronaut Maneuvering Unit in the Space Environment Simulation Laboratory vacuum chamber at the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston in January 1966. Three months later Givens was selected as a member of NASA’s fifth astronaut group. He was killed in a car-crash on June 6, 1967. The AMU was never tested in space. Ed Hengeveld |

Another great picture Ed!! I look forward to these, so please keep them coming. I always think of Ed everytime I drive to JSC or RocketTown from Sugar Land. The route takes me along Beltway 8 close to the spot where Ed was killed. What a shame. |
