"In 1998, Borman purchased a cattle ranch in southern Montana, running 4,000 head of cattle on 160,000 acres (65,000 ha). He also rebuilt a rare World War II single-engine fighter, the Bell P-63 Kingcobra, which he exhibited and flew in air show"...he was 70 years old! Such an inspiration on so many levels. |

If Frank Borman wasn't the epitome of an astronaut with "the right stuff" then I don't understand the term. I remember the flight of Apollo 8 as if it happened yesterday. I treasure the fact that I was, as much as anyone else on Planet Earth in December, 1968, a witness to a true voyage of exploration. The history books tell us about Columbus, Magellan, da Gama, Drake and Cook, but for those of us old enough to remember Frank Borman's crew talking to us from lunar orbit, this was history being made right in front of our eyes. I mourn the passing of the leader of that unique expedition, the first to leave Earth and visit another celestial body, but I smile as I contemplate a life lived to the full, leaving behind an unforgettable legacy. |

I had the privilege of meeting the crew of Apollo 8 at the National Museum of the Air Force in Dayton in 2004 for the induction of Gen. Anders into the National Aviation Hall of Fame. Col. Borman graciously signed his individual portrait and the Apollo 8 crew crew portrait for me and posed for a picture with me. I told Col. Borman that I had attended the crew's parade in Washington, DC in January 1969 and he replied that I did not look old enough. I responded that I was 13 at the time. In the excitement of the moment, I forgot to ask Col. Borman to sign my copy of his memoir "Countdown." A great role model. Thank you for your service Colonel. Apollo 8 made 1968 end on a bright note. |

Will the KSC Visitor Complex have any commemoration as well as celebrating the life to the late Frank Borman? |

Thank you for your service to our country as an Air Force Aviator and NASA Astronaut.I had the pleasure of meeting Colonel Borman and I asked him to tell me about fellow Astronaut Edward White. He answered my question and I learned more about Edward White from our conversation than any book could ever tell me. Frank Borman thought very well of Ed White. |
