I met Col. Bobko at the 1992 Planetary Congress in Washington, DC and several times since then. A true gentleman, he will be missed. |

A very gracious man. I was able to meet him on the Intrepid in NYC with my good space buddy Hart in July 2014. Col Bobko signed page 38 of my Space Shuttles book. |

On April 9, 1983, I was at Edwards AFB watching Challenger and "Bo" Bobko return from their first voyage into space.Just a few years later, I was privileged to meet COL Bobko and several other USAF astronauts when they visited RAF Alconbury. I wish I could say I remember the meeting in much detail, but I do remember how gracious and indulgent of a shy and space-struck kid those guys were... especially "Bo" and John Blaha. It always hurts to lose yet another —as of course happens too often these days — but this one stung more than most. RIP, Colonel. |
