Can anyone here help identify the four unknowns in this Mission Operations Control Room (MOCR) group photo? This is believed to be Apollo 10 Shift 1 (Glynn Lunney's Black Team). If any of the existing names or roles are wrong please let me know and I'll correct them. Photo scan courtesy of Bruce McCandless III. |

Apart from confirming the proposed identifications above, I'm still trying to identify there two. Their names are likely to be in the list above (although this is not guaranteed). |

Thanks. Even if they don't recognize the unknowns it would be nice if they could confirm the names and roles of those already identified. |

Apollo PAO Doug Ward says; Unknown 2 is Bill Johnson, technical assistant to the PAO commentator. Bill was employed by AV Services Corp. a contractor to the Public Affairs Office. Unknown 3 is Jack Riley, PAO commentator. |

I found a thread for a similar photo (for Apollo 7). If the identification in that photo is correct, then, perhaps, given similar facial features and the radical fashion choice for the time (NO TIE!!), "Unknown 2" may be Neil Hutchinson (#8 in the Apollo 7 photo). Comparing the 2 photos, "Unknown 4" form the Apollo 10 photo may be either #3 or#13 from the Apollo 7 photo. |

Thanks for the id on Bill Johnson, and confirmation of Jack Riley's id. I'm also going with my identification of William M. Anderson as "Unknown 1" - the face is just a perfect match. That leaves "Unknown 4" as the only missing id... |

That would be great. And if he could check the other ids too. |

Update from Gerry Griffin: I can't give you all of the unknowns, but I can name one. The others weren't "prime guys" in the MOCR so their names escape me. Also, two people are identified incorrectly... I'll point those out too! - Unknown 3 is Jack Riley, PAO (Public Affairs Officer)
- Gary Renick is in error, that is a young John Aaron, EECOM
- John Zieglschmid is in error, that is Willard Hawkins, Surgeon

Thanks for getting this feedback. The surgeon being Willard Hawkins rather than Dr Z makes sense as that matches the records too. "Gary Renick" actually being a young John Aaron? That does look about right and Renick was not on the Apollo 10 Shift 1 list as GUIDO. On the other hand, John Aaron is listed as the EECOM for Windler's team, with Clint Burton as EECOM on Lunney's team, but I'm sure it's possible people were switched between shifts. |

Sy Liebergot helped me identify some MOCR personnel some time ago and there are couple of possibilities - GUIDO's, Ray Teague and although not on the official pre-launch Apollo 10 manning list, maybe Will Presley. Ray can be just seen in the right background in this A13 MOCR image. |

I am updating my earlier post - thanks to the fellow members of the “Manned Space Operations” Alumni group, I can now say for certain the “unknown” in your photo is a man named Raymond Teague. He was an Air Force civilian assigned to Flight Dynamics and for Apollo 10 he was GUIDO in the MOCR. |

I think you've both got it — Ray Teague. I can only find one decent photo but it's a really good match. The list above has him as a GUIDO on Windler's team rather than Lunney's but the same is true for Aaron. I'm sure some people were switched between shifts. |

I'm hoping to get a high quality scan of the original group photo from Bruce McCandless III, at which point I will post a 'final' annotated version for everyone's reference. |
