"National treasure" is an excellent choice of words. I'm glad you like it.I'll also give the SpaceCraft Films Apollo 7 DVD a plug. I wish I had some of that information while I was writing code. An excellent source of info, too! Cheerz! Tracy

With any luck, I hope to shoot a ton of video based on the questions that everyone has sent over the last few months. If the reaction to his site continues to be positive, I think that Wally would be amiable to expanding the site in this way. I know that he's already getting good feedback from his peers. So, we'll all sit back and keep our fingers crossed. The entire point of the site is to read about Wally from Wally's point of view, not the way NASA has chosen to portray him. Write the legacy in his own words. Cheerz! Tracy

A special thanks to Mark Gray of SpaceCraft Films, who gave us permission to use the Apollo 7 DVD trailer on Wally's site. It's been added to the Schirra's Space page.Cheerz! Tracy

It appears that everyone likes the videos! We really wanted to make this a video intensive site and intend to add more clips in the months to come. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions or ideas that you would like to see on video [or audio] for the site. I think that Wally will get a big kick out of a list of questions from the cS gang. Send them to me at divemaster@pobox.com or wowie@wowiewebdesign.com Cheerz! Tracy [Keep those cards and letters coming in, Folks! I'm forwarding all of your comments to Wally and his agent]

I think it's safe to say that Farthest Reaches will be offering signed copies of "The Real Space Cowboys" though no other details are available at this particular time. Anyone interested may email to be put on a list I'm just beginning to compile. More information will be forthcoming.......------------------ Steve Hankow http://www.farthestreaches.com IP: Logged |

I see that Rob has posted an interview with Wally onto the CollectSpace site. I had the pleasure of being on a conference call with Wally, Ed Buckbee and Gerry Morton about 10 days back discussing the "Turtle" part of The Real Space Cowboys book. Apparently, it was Gerry who started Wally with the turtle club. Wally was the High Potentate, Gerry was the Low Potentate. Some of the funniest stories I've ever heard. The book should be a real hoot. I'm begging them to put some of their stories to video as they're that much more funny when you hear them directly out of their mouths. If you think this is a good idea, let me know. Also, they're working on a limited edition Turtle Club membership signed by the High Potentate himself. The card and the book would be identically signed and numbered in a short run [don't remember if I mentioned that here before]. So, you, too can be a turtle IF you know the answers to the four questions. Then, with great pride, you can walk up to Wally and say "Are You a Turtle, Wally?' and wait for the correct response! Otherwise, drinks are on him. Cheerz! Tracy

WOWJust went to the Appearance page and saw among many heros of spaceflight, none other than my son Blake. What a very cool honor that is! That was a great moment for my son. They were both sportin' their Aloha shirts in Burbank. Thanks so much Wally & Tracy, and you too Steve. I still can't get over it. My son will have to wait until morning when he wakes up for school to check it out. What a treat that'll be. He was looking for something around the house tonight, to bring to his class tomorrow for show-n-tell. A BIG MAHALO to you guys! Rizz IP: Logged |
