Is Mike Mullane still going to be at Spacefest I hope? I would have sworn I saw him on the list before but I could have been mistaken...Are there any chances of additional Space Shuttle Astronauts being to the lineup at Spacefest V? |

Dave was $200 at ASF, no charge for inscription.

We're going to try to talk Buzz into coming Sunday to sign his new book but that is all. He definitely won't be there on the weekend.Mike Mullane has overseas business. Rusty Schweickart has a grandson's graduation. Curt Newport is coming. Still working on other guests. |

If it helps with the sticker-shock, he's a very kind, gracious signer. I found him to be a true gentleman. |

Sadly, I am over in the UK and won't have the opportunity to meet him personally. It would be a case of either sending stuff in or having a fellow cS'er do it on my behalf Curses being over the pond! |

Any discussions with David Brin for him to come and give a talk? Very interesting guy, and he would make a great addition. |

Steve Gruber has once again graciously agreed to get items signed for folks who cannot attend. If you need his contact info please email me direct. Thanks, Al |

Steve did a great job in getting multiple signatures on an item I sent to him to take to Spacefest III. I entrusted him with a non-trivial amount of money despite my never having met him (I did ask around first!), and so I can vouch for his honesty. |

Any word as to whether Cernan's pricing will match his $165 (or so) fee at Autographica? |

Nice to see Sy added to the Spacefest V lineup! Is Paul Weitz still going to be attending? Also I noticed on the schedule that on Monday there is "AZ Astronauts" listed... Who does this include and is it worth hanging out an extra day until Tuesday? |

That would be great but when Alan Bean charges $225 ($200 for his signature and $25 for inscription) I wouldn’t be too optimistic. I wish there was a discount for personalization to kids because my 7 year old daughter keeps her vintage NASA litho to show to Mr. Cernan (and I also want one for myself). My personal opinion it would fair because personalization for kids make an item special but at the same time it is a bad investment. Well, I will see how it goes...

Playing devil's advocate you could wind up with adults recruiting kids to get photos signed for them, not for the kids, because of the cheaper price....Not to mention, what about the adult who legitimately wants a photo signed for their child who isn't present at the show or event? |

There will always be devil's advocates...I was just saying about what I think — not in general but in particular for the event. It's about procedures to prevent abusing the system but... There is no that system yet and I don't believe it will be. And like many people say there is always a choice. |

It also looks as if Cernan is only going to be there for one day, Sunday. No meals with him, unless he shows up for Sunday breakfast. |

Hotel rooms going fast. This is over a holiday, and Tucson's a prime destination. Overflow hotels filling also, but they're also 4 mi. away. You'll have to rent a car to get to Starr Pass, but guess what?

Any chance that Jerry Ross might give a lecture/presentation at this year's show?Mike Mullane's was great last year, and all the booksigning feedback indicates Jerry's presentation is a must-see. |

Ugh indeed. I'm pretty sure I'm done with autograph shows. They've priced me out of the market.Next month marks the 10th anniversary of the first show I attended - the Sims & Hankow show in Washingon, D.C. Schirra and Carpenter were each $25, Mitchell and Duke were each $30 and Stafford was $45. I'm thankful I got in when I did! |

Well, as these guys get older, I doubt any of the fees will go down. A good part of Spacefest is just spending time with the astronauts, scientists, and fellow space enthusiasts. (Not to mention the art and collections). But, if you want to have some fun, go to the Spacefest page, click on "history" "2007" "Astronauts" and check out the fees only 6 years ago. |
