Ah, always the difficult question. If money is not an issue then the answer is easy; get them all. Otherwise it's time to get creative. Last year I had an Apollo 17 Moonpans photo signed by nine astronauts who went to the moon; at least one from every mission. It is a wonderful piece that I had framed and hardly a day goes by that I don't stop and admire it. But it was expensive. A less expensive option is to get as many of the shuttle astronauts to sign one of your favorite shuttle photos. This year I have a presentation of a flown piece of Apollo 17 foil from the CM to get Gene Cernan to sign. For me, deciding what I want signed is half of the fun of going to the show. Welcome to cS and hope to meet you at the show. |

If you like the litho and are planning on keeping it you should definitely get it signed. You are coming half-way around the world for this event and don't want to go back home with any regrets about what you should have done... but didn't! |

First, my mom and I have a shopping theory that I think is useful for autograph shows: if you know you're going to get home and say, "gee, I really wish I had bought xxx", then you need to get it. You're traveling a long way to meet some cool people and if you really want an autograph, go for it.Also, for your Gemini XII item, make sure you get Aldrin to sign it first. If you get Lovell first, Aldrin may charge you an insane completion fee. At Spacefest the charge for a Gemini XII item already signed by Lovell was $500. Lovell might sign a completion fee as well, but I would think it'll be less than what Aldrin charges. Good luck and have fun! |

I would check the pricing at both tables first, before getting any signatures on the Gemini 12 litho. If Buzz thinks you are going to add Lovell to complete it, he may charge a completion fee even if he signs first. |

Ahhh, the dreaded "anticipated completion fee"... |

At least at some of the previous shows, fellow crew members coordinated their completion fees such that they were the same regardless who you visited first. That may have changed in recent years, as I haven't paid close attention. |

We will be celebrating the 45th Anniversary of Gemini XII, so the attire will be business casual/cocktail dress. So no tropical theme this go around. |

We promise there will be no reason to build an ark!!! No flooding will or has happened! Nicole has kept a very tight rein on the numbers. Platinum Plus will have a dynamic time with lots of extras which were not offered last year, such as an extra photo op with Alan Bean and a private lecture. |

The photo ops! Are the photo ops with Bean and Aldrin included with the Platinum Plus ticket, or is there an extra charge for this, and if so how much will that charge be? |

I'm trying to follow the chart of guests at the upcoming show and I'm not sure of who's the latest to leave. |

There have been no retractions from the show since Sept. 15 when it was noted that Gerry Carr, Hoot Gibson and Rhea Seddon were no longer attending. |

Both photo ops (Bean on Friday and Lovell/Aldrin on Saturday) are included with Platinum Plus Ticket. Even better, pictures will be available the next day for pick up! So bring your best smile! |

I assume that if you want to get both Aldrin and Lovell to sign on Sunday the photo you just had taken with them the previous night, the completion fees would apply as well? |

That would be the safe assumption. |

I understand that the tickets are picked up at "will call." This is an American term. Maybe our U.S pals can help us with that, however Nicole from ASF told me that there will be a e-mail sent to me early October detailing all the ticket info and all other things we need to know for the show. |

If I recall correctly the ASF folks will have the ticket packages some time Thursday afternoon in the hotel lobby. But you should also get an email with all the details well before the show. It's always fun to sit in the lobby Thursday afternoon (perhaps with a copy of Footprints in the Dust to read) and just observe who checks in. |

I was wondering if anybody that is attending the upcoming ASF show could help me out obtaining a signature from Fred Haise.I wish I was able to attend but this side of the Atlantic isn't really that cost affective when it comes to astronaut shows. |

We will offer several chances for you to pick up your tickets at both the Radisson Resort at the Port and the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Nicole will email you an agenda outlining all the details as the event draws near. Can't wait to see you there! |

I´m also looking for someone who might be able to help me to obtain a couple of autographs (Scott, Worden, Bean) as I have no chance to come over to the states this time. I really hope someone can help me out. Thanks in advance. |

I see on the schedule that Gene Cernan will be giving a talk at 10am. This is something I must be at but I also must get my Aldrin/Lovell photo signed at 10am. Can I still get to hear Gene Cernan or will the doors be locked? |

Just curious, but why do you have to get the signatures at 10 am? Barring something unusual happening, both Lovell and Aldrin should be there all day. I think... |

Because I always think of unusual things happening... I am coming a long way for this and while at the Cernan talk I'd be anxious that Aldrin just may get fed up and leave early! |

I would go to the lecture if I were you. I was at Spacefest in San Diego a couple years ago and I was similarly over anxious to see the astronauts and get some autographs and in doing so, I later realized I'd missed out on some great talks. Buzz will be there all weekend; I would bet money on it. I bet the Cernan lecture will be excellent and I think you'd later regret not going to the whole thing. |

Due to a family event scheduled the same weekend I will not be able to attend this years show. I knew it was likely I would not be able to attend, but I held out hopes. But there is little chance. This will be the first year I will not be in attendance. I always look forward to the ASF show. I know its going to be a great show. The ASF does an amazing job and it is an incredible event. Lots of pictures and stories posted please. I look forward to being there next year. |

We completely hear you and promise that if an astronaut plans to leave early or come late for some reason we will post this ahead of time so you may plan around this. There are a couple of these posted on the AAMS guest page. |

Yep! We'll have your tix packages at the Radisson and/or Kennedy Space Center. Nicole will be sending final emails in a week or two with the pick-up times, etc. I can't believe the show is in just 30 days! Thank you to all of you who have purchased advance tix. We really appreciate your support and all of us in the office are working hard to ensure you have the best time possible! |

It would be nice if each table had silver and gold paint pens. Most of the tables last year had only silver, gold, blue, and black Sharpies and some prefer paint pens to Sharpie. The paint pens usually come in a regular, fine, and extra fine ink width. |

It would be nice for some consistency in pens. I have a wonderful moonpans signed in silver sharpie by 9 astronauts who flew to the moon. But the ink on several are slightly different; it's subtle but real. Is it possible that those signatures are with the paint pen? Or do the sharpies vary a bit? |

One is never better served but by himself. I suggest that you acquire your favorite markers/paint pens, a few of each. At home, keep them in the horizontal position, or follow the instructions to the letter.Even when a marker runs out, you'll want to keep it, bearing in mind all of the people who have signed with it! And another good idea: type the inscriptions and print them ahead of time. Then just show that printout when it is time for someone to sing and inscribe your piece. That will disambiguate any spelling issues. |

Great suggestion! We always try to provide the astronauts with plenty of pens/sharpies but bringing your own will ensure that you get just what you want! |

Great ideas and I have the pens in my closet! Perhaps after the pen runs out of ink I could get it signed by...Looking forward to November! |
