I didn't realise Eric's book had been published so early; I checked my hardcover copy and it was released in 1978, which is when I first wrote to him. The BBC documentary left me in little doubt that had funding not been pulled from the project, Brown would now be recognised as the first man to exceed Mach 1 in level flight. It sure would have made a mess of Tom Wolfe's writing plans! |

We are pleased and honoured to announce a new guest for Autographica.George Johnson one of the original WW2 617 squadron Dambusters will appear at our show in March. George was Bomb aimer on McCarthy's crew and attacked the Sorpe Dam. This is a rare appearance and a treat for aviation Buffs and historians alike. Dave Phillips |

I believe Capt Brown will be a very popular guest, and he has agreed to do 2 talks, one Saturday, one Sunday, both will be different and include slides too. You can book at the astro info service website. I have now also confirmed some prices etc with Capt Lovell. Flat items inc Covers will be £80. 3D and completion items to be confirmed and i hope to have these prices by Monday. Base fee will include 1 mission, extra missions £5 per mission. No charge for Inscription. He will not sign flown items on this occasion. He has also confimred to me that he has no other shows in his diary for this year, or plans to attend any other similar event this year. So if you want to meet Capt James A. Lovell, get your ticket now! Diamond Passes are now all sold out, sorry, but you were warned earlier! Both Lovell and Haise will be giving a free talk/Q and A session on Sunday Morning. This is open ONLY to those with either a Diamond pass (front rows) or those who have booked with us a Platinum pass which includes the dinner, show pass, and accomodation. The websitePlease see the website for details. www.autographica.co.uk Watch this space for some more details regarding the dinner! |

Hi Dave/Gary Will Capt Lovell be taking cash only or like Buzz will there be a facility for taking credit cards. I seem to have more items to get signed than the cash buget will allow.Paul.

I don't mean to sound rude, but it's not "free" if you have buy an expensive pass to get to it. |

Because of the problems with accounting for the amount of money that the space guests can take, it is simply not possible for us to accept credit cards for their signing fees. We should be accepting payment by card for Dinner tickets, photos etc, because that is our money. If it was possible we would do it, as i firmly believe that it would be a benefit to everyone. The hotel does have a cash machine, and there is also another machine at McDonalds next door, so access to cash is not a serious problem, but bring plenty with you! As regards the special Lovell/Haise talk, it would not have been fair on our part to simply allow anyone to attend that event, as we cannot seat that many, so a way to limit the numbers had to be found, and that is why we have restricted it to those staying at the hotel and dinning with us on saturday evening, they are after all the most serious space fans. To be fair, if this was a corporate event, then you would have had to pay probably £200 just to hear these 2 talk anyway, so getting a free talk for the cost of the hotel and dinner anyway is in my opinion a bargain, and will probably never be done again, especially as we have just added Sy Liebergot to the line up! Buy that ticket now, or miss the only time these three guys are probably ever going to be able to answer your questions about Apollo 13. I am almost 100% certain that this will not ever happen again Just to remind you, Diamond Passes are all sold out. |

Since Sy Liebergot's attending has been made possible thanks to a private person's sponsoring him (THANKS KIM T.!!!), couldn't we imagine getting together to finance Gene Kranz' attending as well??? Providing he is available and willing to come, of course. I would agree to participate for a reasonable amount. Yvan |

I'm looking forward to fnally meeting many of you across the pond. It'll be a rare event for Jim, Freddo and I to be together and prob not likely to happen again. I believe we'll do a Q&A session together--I hope that it gets recorded. I'll bring along some second edition (softback w/CD)copies of my books, photos, and some EECOM hats. Special thanks to the generosity my U.K. sponsor for making this unique opportunity possible. Sy Liebergot "Apollo EECOM: Journey of a Lifetime" www.apolloeecom.com |

Capt Lovell has now confimred prices for his signing at Autographica. These are.... Single signature including one mission £75 and each extra mission will be £5 3-D items £100 Gemini Completion items £125 Apollo Completion items £150 We still have places at the Saturday evening drinks reception/dinner and Casino, and providing you are staying at the hotel, this will validate your pass for the Sunday only Lovell/Haise/Liebergot talk. Capt Lovell has also confirmed to me that he has turned down all invitations for any other events this year, and has no desire to attend any similar event. For those of you unable to attend, we are able to accept limited requests for signed photos, but cannot accept mailed in items under any circumstances. As i am aware of the number of Diamond pass holders who are space fans, i can say that probably 40 of them will be attending the Sunday talk, plus those that have already purchased Platinum or Hotel and dinner places, which does not leave many places. The location for the talk is still not confirmed, so i am expecting the total number of places available to not exceed probably 120, as this is currently the larghest space available. We look forward to seeing you all on the 3/4th. The Lovel/Haise/ Liebergot Lecture will be first thing on Sunday, and the time is provisional, but i expect it to be probably 9.30 as we are aware that some need to get away. Naraht, I was surprised that I had a hole in my schedule for the Autographica date. This'll be just the weekend then back to the U.S. lectures. I've sent offers to speak at quite a few UK universities to no avail, so this is it for a while. re my fees: Believe me, they will be very reasonable. I'll bring second edition softback copies of my book, photos and even some of my Apollo 13 EECOM baseball caps. Once again, my sincere thanks for the generosity of my sponsor. Ah well, I hope you enjoy your short time over here!I won't be able to make it to Autographica due to financial circumstances (being a poor student and all, I can't afford to buy one of the passes to go to the talk), but I'll have happy memories of having met you and Mr. Haise at MAPLD, and will look forward to reading all the reports of this event. G'day Charles,Generally Cosmonauts have charged around 20GBP in the past some even less. There is a cash machine at the hotel BUT depending on your card, more importantly those from overseas, it may refuse to give you cash out. The signining astro/cosmos dont have credit card facility. Some of the dealers do accept - so I usually use credit card for books, posters and the like, and cash for the signatures |

On the Moonpans table we will be able to take paypal payments via an online laptop for our 16x20 photos and signed panormamas. But also if any of you need cash for a signature and are unable to use the cash machine, we would be happy to give you cash in return for a paypal payment.

Cosmonauts, are as always £10 per signature, and none of our space guests accept credit cards, cash only, so please ensure that you bring enough with you. We have aksed the hotel to ensure the cash machine is full on Saturday morning, and refilled on Saturday evening. There are now only limited spaces availabe at the Sunday Q and A with Lovell Haise and Liebergot, so if you want to attend, then contact me now with your dinner and hotel reservation. Looking forward to seeing you all there. GarryGarry

Hello everyone Yes we will have a numbered virtual queue system. Unless you have a Diamond or Platinum pass and then you will not need one. Low number tickets will be issued to Gold pass holders as you collect your tickets. Higher number tickets will be issued to standard ticket holders as they also pick up tickets. Depending on when you pick up your tickets gold passes will have numbers between 1-250. Standard tickets will be above this. Diamond and platinum pass holders do not need virtual queue tickets. Most of you have indicated to me that you are having multiple items signed so if you have a lot of items for signing you will definately benefit from having a gold pass or above. |
