For those looking to order signed copies of Nancy Conrad's biography of her late husband, Rocketman: Astronaut Pete Conrad's Incredible Ride to the Moon and Beyond, you have a trio of options:
  1. As previously noted, the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center will be hosting Nancy for her first in-person book signing on May 22 and will be taking absentee orders; to order, click here.
  2. Boggs SpaceBooks has announced pre-orders for Rocketman, shipped with a bonus archival sleeve; to order, click here.
  3. Or through buySPACE, with copies shipping in early June; to order, click here.
All three sources are offering the book for the cover price of $24.95 (+shipping/taxes were applicable).

Based on interviews conducted with Pete Conrad by his wife before his untimely death, this is a not-to-miss biography and will be undoubtedly a valuable addition to any space enthusiast's library.

Thump,
thank you for passing the information. I'd heard she was coming to NASM but hadn't heard when. Great job!

Hello All.... I had a wonderful day yesterday !! I was fortunate enough courtesy of my good friends Bill & Vicki O' Donnell, their children and Al Hallonquist to attend Nancy's book signing at KSC on Friday the 13th. Nancy was every bit as wonderful as I remembered her to be. She and Pete truly loved each other....NO DOUBT !!
I can also confirm to all CS readers that she does actually read the posts here on Collectspace !! She is very busy right now with her book signings and such but always has time to be gracious as she always is !! I was extremely lucky to also visit with her over dinner thanks to both the O'Donnells. They are the epitome of good friends and I am so fortunate to have such friends !! When the subject of Pete's passing came up ....her eyes welled up and tears flowed . She truly loved Pete and it is evident for all to see . I heard tons of great Pete stories and ancedotes so the signing and evening was very bright indeed !!
To all those who feel that Nancy's opinions are less valid because she was not Pete's wife during the Apollo years....that is pure baloney !! She is very eloquent and they truly had a great love affair. She also relayed that she had great support and still does to this day from both the Aldrins (Buzz and Lois) and that when she needed them .....they were ALWAYS there for her. That was very nice to hear of that special support and how they kept her active and involved in her time of need after Petes tragic loss. In short, she is a wonderful lady and all would do well to attend any of her book signings as she has much to offer and I cannot wait to read the book . I hope many of you turn out to see her and pick up a copy of "ROCKETMAN" !! Do yourselves a big favor !!
Well, I have rambled on long enough but I will close with unending THANKS to the O' Donnells for including me in their day and making it memorable beyond words. They truly made me feel like family and Nancy Conrad was a GEM. I am so lucky and I hope all of you can and will support Nancy. Best To All.....Donald Brady

Is anyone going to the signing in San Diego?

If anyone is attending the signing at the museum, would it be possible to pick up a copy for me? I was planning on attending, but just found out I will be unavailable then. I would be more that happy to pay for the trouble.
If anyone can help, thanks in advance!!!

Tom

Hello Tom,

Very sorry to hear that you won't be able to make it. It may be that you would prefer your copy signed for another attendee in-person, but in case not we are taking orders over the web:
http://www.nexternal.com/rhfleet/?Product=204

Including requests for personalizations.

Thanks,

Francis.

Hello all....Just to let you know: Nancy left many signed copies of her book "ROCKETMAN" at the Kennedy Space Center main gift shop if anyone is interested. They are also embossed because I saw it done myself. The embossing was done by my good friend Bill O' Donnell and the books were packed away by myself and Vicki and Shannon O' Donnell ! A fast call to the gift shop should suffice while supplies last !! Best To all...Donald Brady

Do you have any pictures that you can post from the Rocketman signing?

Best,

Hello Bruce,

Unfortunately, our staff member who takes digital photos was not available for today. But I have attached three photos here courtesy the Orange County Space Society.

Thanks,

Francis.

Hello and greetings from CA. This is my first post here on collectSPACE, but what better way than to start off by saying I attended Nancy Conrad's lecture & book signing yesterday in San Diego and what a pleasure it was to meet and hear her stories! For anyone who has an opportunity to go to one of her lectures I would strongly recommend it. Not only did I find her stories interesting but she was so gracious, warm and funny that the lecture flew by and it was over all too soon. Good luck with the book Nancy. All the best, Joni.
