The next American Space Museum auction, previously scheduled for Aug. 31, has been moved to Sept. 7 so we may attend the memorial service for our beloved leader Karan Conklin. We apologize for the reschedule and hope everyone will support the museum through the auctions or make a donation in her memory. |

The shuttle crew signed autographed photos need to be scrutinized for autopen signatures. |

I have had Steve Zarelli review all of our auction items. He did find a printed item we thought was authentic (listing is being replaced) but no other issues where found. If anyone has a question or concern on any lot PLEASE e-mail me. I am happy to scrutinize any lot as we all make mistakes but a general post like the one above is not appreciated as we take great pride in offering top quality and authentic items in our auctions. |

Glad to see Steve Z. evaluate all signed auction material for the ASM and BAA. I think this would be a good idea, in addition, Steve could also offer individual C/LOA's if requested for any signed items. It has been my pleasure since Day 1 in assisting and helping the ASM/BAA with signed material and lot descriptions as needed. A tremendous thanks goes to Chuck for his continued, devoted, and tireless auction work, both on-site auctions in Titusville and online for so many years now. If it was not for him, there would be no space auctions by the ASM, for sure. As pointed out above, there had been some shuttle crew signed facsimile or printed NASA-photos, mostly from later crews, that have been detected elsewhere. Those more noticeable would be STS-95, 105, and 119 (in gold metallic ink) that I have seen, even coming out of astronaut crew quarters during the later shuttle program.

Thank you Ken for the kind words. Please if anyone ever has a question on any item we sell, about authenticity, provenance or any matters at all please contact me. I have pulled dozens of lots from our auctions over the years as fakes, secretarial, autopens, etc. I have never claimed to be an expert and I relay on the people here to help keep me honest. For anyone who is unaware Ken has been a mentor and friend for many years and without his vast knowledge, help and support I would have never had the relationship with the museum, this wonderful auction business or the great acquaintances that I have made through these endeavors. It is my goal to earn your respect and live up to the high standards of honesty set by Ken Havekotte and The Space Coast Cover Service. Thank you all for your support. |
