Regarding lot 293 (Goodwill disc) — the description claims six originals produced (of the later variant that actually flew) and the example offered is the one of six original produced for July 11, 1969 NASA delivery. I retain one of the original batch in the collection, sold directly to me by the Sprague family (whose company manufactured the discs). There were reportedly 17 (vice six) discs manufactured as part of the original batch as discussed in Tahir Rahman's book, "We Came in Peace for All Mankind" and also reaffirmed in my direct conversations with John Sprague. These were also separate from subsequent lithography work initiated to provide copies for the Apollo 11 crew's global tour. |

Thank you for the information, I was going from Mike's memory account and as he is quite elderly. He may have been mistaken in his recount. I will update our listing. |

For years I was told that my Goodwill disc for Apollo 11 was one of the original 17, however, mine had been sold to Rahman during a visit to my home about 20 years ago for his book publication. I am not certain that mine had been an original 17, but more likely, one of the hundred or more produced by Sprague as exact replicas for gift purposes. Mine had came from the original collection of veteran aerospace journalist Mary Bubb as a gift from a Sprague company executive to her with all the supporting paperwork. |

I am happy to report that Bid Again Auctions has been able with the help of our supporters to raise over $1,000,000 for charity with our charity auctions and outright donations. The lion's share of over $800,000 going to the American Space Museum but we have also raised substantial funds for our close friend Fred Haise's favorite charity, the Infinity Science Center, as well as The Apollo 1 Foundation and the Stafford Air and Space Museum. This is a HUGE milestone and we are very proud but also want to acknowledge this would never have been possible without your support. |

Fantastic news. I hope other auction houses follow suit. I'm aware RR already use Steve's services and I'm sure they benefit greatly from the confidence this inspires in buyers. However, I wonder if Steve is considering taking a couple of folks under his wing and training them up to help with what could become quite a heavy workload (if it isn't already). |
