A collection of special Apollo 13 and Apollo 11 items will be auctioned on Oct. 26, 2017 at Nate D. Sanders Auctions. Items include Jack Swigert's personally owned Apollo 13 gold Robbins medal and his Rolex GMT Master watch.
While flown silver Robbins medals number in the hundreds, gold Robbins medals were limited to single digits per mission, and they were only available to the flight crew themselves.
Also being auctioned is Swigert's personally owned Rolex watch. Swigert's affinity for Rolex watches is well known. He gifted his flown watch to Rolex's CEO after his return to Earth and the CEO, in turn, gave him a new Rolex GMT Master "Mocha" watch. This watch is Mocha, and may therefore be the same one given by Rolex after the Apollo 13 mission.
Other items include an Apollo 11 flown U.S. flag on a NASA certificate signed by all three astronauts, a flown Apollo 11 Robbins medal owned by Buzz Aldrin and a neat Apollo 11 plaque (a replica of the one left on the moon) signed by all three plus Richard Nixon.
Auction items can be seen here, and the auction ends at 5:00 p.m. Pacific time on Oct. 26.
