RR does not list reserves. I checked out the price on the night of the auction after the lot had closed, hence I know how high it went to. The next day when I looked at the prices realized list I noticed that the lot was not listed, which means it did not sell. The only reason I can imagine it did not sell was that it did not make it's reserve.

Makes sense, but I thought it was overpriced when I saw it at $5100.

While it is a large model it is not a manned Saturn. However, if it was part of the collection in von Braun's office (not that the auction ever even hinted at ownership), that could change the value for some folks. For me it's about the model and not who owned it.

I think RR is missing a trick here.

Heritage lists many unsold items post-auction at a fixed price or offer price. As a consignor I'd be happy to have some of my unsolds marketed in this way, rather than suffer the cost of having them returned or retained for an uncertain re-list date.

That's not to say that I'm not pleased with the ever-perfect handling and results of the space auction!

Ah, good point. I agree - RR is fantastic, but I really like Heritage's policy of post-auction sales.

Picked up some great items, and yeah, some of the prices caused heartburn on the buy side. Congrats to the consigners!

I was especially focused on the Apollo 15 CCEM and the prototype Apollo panel. If you happen to be the consigner of any of the following items, I'd love to aggregate any details you might have on the artifact (origins, stories, photos or other details) for a compendium and digital docent tour application that I am building. Thanks!

Lot
88. Soyuz 7K-L1 Module Lever
90. Proton-K Engine Ignition Component
91. Salyut Space Station Docking Control Monitor
288. Apollo Control Panel
290. Lunar Module Control Panel (proto build)
291. Apollo Lunar Module Strut
310. Apollo CM Accelerometer
636. Jim Irwin (flown CCEM)
640. COAS Mounting Bracket Electrical Plug
807. Shuttle Booster Separation Motor Nozzle
882. STS-5 Flown Shuttle Tray

I must say I found the service of RR Auctions to be outstanding. The delivery was extremely fast for international as well.

I am now the happy owner of two Skylab kinescope copies which to the best of my knowledge are not easily found anywhere else.
