At the risk of being deemed a whiner has anyone had their final invoice including shipping? I had a prelim invoice and then noticed that my credit card had been charged by Regency before being advised of shipping charges. I'm sure the charges are "reasonable" and appreciate the efficiency but it would be nice to have advice on the shipping charges... or the options. On the other hand my account of items sold came through very quickly. Hi Paul,I did not receive the final invoice. Was just thinking about that. I am paying through paypal so all my money is still in the pocket. This is my first auction. Are shipping charges reasonable to Europe and do you have to pay tax as soon as it enters the country? Ruud |

I received my final invoice (with shipping charges) via e-mail about a week ago. I also got a paper copy of the final invoice in the mail a couple days ago.Note however that I did not bid through RS, but bid via eBay Live. |

I bid via e-bay too but considering I live in the Netherlands it will probably take some more time. Ruud |

I got my preliminary invoice in email a while back. Today, I got my autographed photo with the final invoice (my credit card had been charged). The shipping charge exactly matched the stamps on the mailer. It was sent by US mail and cost about $5.50 for postage to California.Doug |

Hi Ruud, shipping charges are usually reasonable in the sense that the auction house charges you whatever it costs and no more. In the UK you often get hit for Duty and VAT but can reclaim VAT down to a 5% level if you can get the items classified as historical collectibles by the tax authorities after import. Usually works for me!Paul |

Potentially dumb question - I bid thru eBay Live for my first time ever and won an item. I assumed that I would get an invoice from R-S, but have not yet. Should I be getting one from them? Or should I go ahead and pay through eBay? |

Micropooz, there are no dumb questions, just dumb answers. Since you made your purchase at eBay life you have to pay them through eBay Live. eBay charges interests for this service.Unfortunately I did not win a single lot at Regency-Superior this time. Best regards from Austria Walter |

You don't have to pay through eBay. RS will probably take a while to get you the invoice, so contact them if you don't eventually receive one. One the invoice arrives, you will have the option of paying through eBay or paying RS directly. The "interests" I assume Walter is referring to is the buyer's premium, which you'll be charged no matter how you pay. Bidders who bid through eBay Live pay a higher premium, because it's eBay cut of the profits for hosting the auction. If you go ahead and pay through eBay before getting a final invoice, you will be paying for the item sans shipping charges. Then RS will have to invoice you again for the shipping amount. So it's best to wait until you receive a final invoice that includes shipping. I'd say give RS another week to get invoices out, then contact them. |

Has anyone experienced what happend to me?I placed an absentee bid via ebay during this last auction. Was out of town and forgot about it. Then all of sudden I received a package in the mail last week. I had won the Sokol KV-2 mirror I had bid on! It was a complete surprise. A nice one I might add It was just strange that I did not receive any news of my purchase until it showed up on my door step. A side note: I still struggle over the premiums we must pay to the auction houses. Paul |
