The earliest post-landing crew portrait I have seen is this photo of the STS-29 crew in front of Discovery at Edwards Air Force Base. Nothing before that? |

Here is a post-landing photo of the STS-135 crew: The final four astronauts of NASA's Space Shuttle Program stand proudly in front of space shuttle Atlantis, the remarkable spacecraft that took them on the STS-135 mission to the International Space Station. From left, are Mission Specialists Rex Walheim and Sandy Magnus, Pilot Doug Hurley, and Commander Chris Ferguson. |

It looks like that tradition was started with STS-26, they had one with Vice President Bush; STS-27 with James Fletcher, Dale Myers and Dick Truly. |

Here are two post-landing photos of the STS-88 crew at KSC. Astronauts James Lovell, Gene Cernan and Bill Anders (behind Cernan) were among those on the runway to greet the crew. The second photo is very dark. They are standing right next to Endeavour. Following their touchdown on Runway 15 at 10:53:29 p.m. EST, STS-88 crew members are greeted by NASA Administrator Daniel Goldin and former astronauts Eugene A. Cernan and James A. Lovell Jr. From left are Pilot Frederick W. "Rick" Sturckow, Goldin , Commander Robert D. Cabana, Mission Specialist Sergei Konstantinovich Krikalev, Cernan, Lovell and Mission Specialist Jerry L. Ross.
