The STS-116 and the Expedition 14 crews took a break from today’s cargo transfers to hold a joint news conference. All 10 shuttle and station crew members gathered this afternoon in the U.S. Destiny Laboratory to field questions from U.S. and European media.
collectSPACE asked newly-arrived Expedition 14 Flight Engineer Sunita Williams about how she found life aboard her new home and the advice of the astronaut she is replacing, Thomas Reiter. Williams reply follows:
quote:My new home is beautiful. Its a little bit crowded right now with all of the stuff we have brought over from Spacehab and my shuttle compadres. Its really clean, its just a nice place to live. Its fun to go back and forth and do work all over the modules.
And Thomas has provided an amazing amount of insight. Of course, he's been up here for about six months, so he knows pretty much all the ins and outs about everything. So, I have been tagging along with him day and night trying to figure out how to make things work. He's been a big help.
It's going to be a great stay up here. I can't wait!
