Due the approaching threat from Hurricane Ian, Kennedy Space Center is currently in a HURCON III status (48 hours prior to 50-knot sustained winds; primary actions include securing facilities, property and equipment, as well as briefing and deploying the ride-out team).
Ian made landfall in Cuba as a Category 3 hurricane on Tuesday (Sept. 27) and is expected to reach Florida's west coast by Wednesday night.
