I was reading an article commemorating "Armageddon," the movie, which came out 20 years ago. Among other trivia (none very flattering towards the movie), one said that for a while, NASA used it as part of its theoretical training, committing astronaut candidates to find "the 168 errors." Not a bad exercise, but apparently, NASA denied. Has anybody else some dope on this? |

Most of the references I can find to this ascribe it to NASA's "management course," not astronaut training. But even that is questionable given the lack of any specific details; all of the accounts I see are generic in nature, with no mention of the center or any responsible individual by name.I'd say this is much more likely an urban legend. |
