I'm looking for high-resolution photos showing launches with the Cape Canaveral lighthouse in the photo. So far, most of the photos I've found have been from one Delta II launch, similar to this one:I'm surprised I haven't found more, particularly for shuttle launches. My partner is a quilter, and she thinks a lighthouse/launch photo would make a great quilt subject. |

I don't know about the photos but since your partner is quilter, this book may be of interest: "Fly Me to the Moon: An Art Quilt Journey," by Susanne Jones (Hardcover, September 28, 2017, Schiffer publishing, ISBN-13: 978-0764354007). |

It isn't feasible to get a photo with the shuttle and the lighthouse. The Delta and Atlas pads are fairly close to the lighthouse, less than 1.5 miles for either. 11 miles for the shuttle pad.

Thanks, Jim. I hadn't considered the distances. I was thinking that since the lighthouse is on the AF side, their photos would only be of AF launches/payloads.

There are at least two shuttle launch photos from there that I can think of, and one of them was STS-73. Here is another of STS-135.There are a number of Atlas launch photos from Complex 36 with the lighthouse in it, such as these: 1 | 2. Here are three more Delta shots: 1 | 2 | 3 There are some timelapse (streak) shots of night launches over the lighthouse as well, if you want me to link to them. Here, Atlas V with TDRS-K. I also know of at least two shuttle launch photos from the Ponce Inlet lighthouse as well, and a few from Jupiter Inlet. |

And if you can see these Facebook links, here are some more by AF photographer Roger Rampley: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |

Ben, thanks for the links! They'll give my partner lots of ideas for her quilt. |
