I have had my photo taken with quite a few astronauts but the ones at the Space Lectures events in Pontefract add just that little extra with a nice background. Last week's event inspired me to see if I could enhance my all time favorite, taken at the 2012 Astronaut Scholarship Foundation Apollo 17 anniversary.
To my utter amazement, within a day of knowing next to nothing about photo editing I managed to produce this picture using a freeware program called GIMP.
In case anyone would like to use this format, the file that I have would allow anyone to insert their own picture. All you need is a steady hand when cutting up the original.

That does look great!
I have never met anyone who walked on the Moon. To be surrounded by all those distinguished astronauts would be enough for me. Even a fuzzy half cropped image of me within 100 feet of that group would make me happy.
