I just got word from my vice-principal that the seniors in my high school have chosen my space class as one of their electives. All is right with the world tonight! |

I'd be interested in knowing what the syllabus will be, and what you're thinking of using for a books (if any). |

I am lucky to have a school that allows this elective. A colleague suggested it to me a few years ago when I was saying how boring the senior electives were, noting how my love of space exploration might translate into a good course. The syllabus is basically the history of NASA from the '50s to the present. I use plenty of DVDs in class and the books vary depending upon the taste of the students. I have used The Last Man on the Moon, Spacewalking and A Man on the Moon. |

You are indeed fortunate. Enjoy teaching the class. I would have recommended A Man on the Moon as well. |
