I was amazed at a question my 8-year old son asked me last night. He knows that the Martian year is longer than an Earth year. So he asked me, "If it's 2008 on Earth, what year is it on Mars?"------------------ John Fongheiser President Historic Space Systems, http://www.space1.com |

Hmm, good question! I'm sure more philosophical or comical answers are in order, but my creative genius is lacking at the moment. Just by doing the math, a Mars years is 687 Earth days. Compare that to 365 (yes, I'm rounding) days on earth and 2008 translates to the year 1066 on Mars. Uh, oh, better watch out for the invading Normans!Cheers, Kevin |

You can't say as Mars isn't following any calendar on Earth! |

Why its approximately Martian year 2,400,000,000 (rough division of Mars orbital period divided into the age of the solar system in earth years)------------------ Scott Schneeweis http://www.SPACEAHOLIC.com/ | |
