Certainly other issues with larger ramifications on the day to day lives of Americans are in play which far outweigh what either candidate intends to do with the space program. The candidates integrity, judgment, past/current associations and philosophy should be carefully considered. |

I have to respectfully disagree. Even if you ignore the hundreds of thousands of Americans whose income is derived from the space program, even if you are not among them, if you believe that space exploration is important and should not be considered expendable, then there is no reason for you to not consider a candidate's space policy as just as important as any of the other issues under consideration. |

Perhaps for 2 percent of the electorate who are employed or directly impacted by the health of the aerospace industry; for the rest the voting populace its more important to hold onto their homes, retirement, retention of individual liberties and autonomy with respect to how their money is involuntarily appropriated by the government and "redistributed", keeping America safe, as well as reestablishing and maintaining U.S. primacy on the world stage. If there were a Maslow Hierarchy analog applied to the issues/needs of the overall electorate, the space program would probably not even appear at the top of the pyramid. | |
