Like most of you, I enjoy researching my collection and expanding my knowledge of our Space program. In my case much of that focus is on the 50,60’s...the downside is that most material produced during this period pre-dates the inception of electronic stowage and the internet. Lots of off-line material is available however, in the form of Newspapers, Magazines, manuals ect. One very interesting resource is MISSILES AND ROCKETS, a weekly trade journal published between the mid 1950’s and 60’s which was not available to the general public. It has some great articles that detail decisions (technical & programmatic) as well as the progress of U.S. initiatives during the golden years of the space race. Reading through these thought it would be great to share with the rest of the cS readership who may not have access to this periodical. Over the next few months will inject some of these articles into the relevant cS forums; to differentiate them from today’s news these posts will be denoted as cS Historygrams (the extracted articles will be inputted without edit)...Hope you enjoy them... ------------------ Scott Schneeweis URL http://www.SPACEAHOLIC.com/

Hello Scott, Sorry, I've been busy lately and haven't had much chance to get on the web. I just wanted to thank you for the space historygrams. Fascinating reading, every one of them. Keep them coming. Best Regards, Mikie |
