Does anybody else have an advertisement over to the right hand side of the message boards?Right over there? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Have I just not noticed it, or is this something new? Noah |

It appears to be new as of today (2/10), Noah. It is a little intrusive (okay, a lot), but does help fund these conversations and so must be tolerated. |

Yes, the ad is new. I tried a few locations for it and the was between the top or the side. I picked the side as it doesn't push the content further down on the page. I'm also promising no blinking or animated ads, or for that matter pop-ups (or unders). Hopefully its not that intrusive... |

In an effort to be less intrusive, the ad now only appears on the front page of the message boards. |

As a collectspace user myself, I also found it intrusive on the individual message pages, and its my ad!! Robert and I have spoken and agreed to remove it from the message pages and just have it on the main message page. Hopefully that will achieve the goal of getting the message across but in a more appealing manner.Joe Davies Historic Space |

I think it looks good on the main page now and we shouldn't forget that it's not only "tolerating" advertising, but something vital to keep collectspace alive. !BTW anybody who hasn't seen the acrylic from Joe - check it out, they are of the same quality like those done by cosmosphere !! Absolutely stunning !!! Florian |

I have to disagree with you there Florian, I think they are better quality than the cosmosphere ones ! Pity I'm to worried about them going yellow to display them, lol ! Adam (added) P.S. I have no problem with the advertising. [This message has been edited by nasamad (edited February 11, 2003).] |

Adam:I sincerely hope my Apollo 11 Acrylics never yellow! I paid considerably extra in their production to have an industry grade acrylic used for their construction, and I am told that it should never yellow, its also much more scratch resistant than the usual acrylic materials used for memorabilia encapsulations. I never knew there were so many differing acrlyic materaisl until I started thisproject and there are HUGE diferences in the prices of the raw materials, I chose to go the route of buying the upper end and reducing profit as I really do want these acrylics to stand the test of time and hopefully, find homes long after we have departed the scene. Of course we arent going to know whether the claims on their sturdiness and non-yellowing are true for about 30 years!! Joe PS I know you were joking but I just had to respond!!! |

Should you wish to send me another one Joe, I'd be quite happy to place it under a sun lamp and visit it for an hour each day to see how it is doing !! :-) Adam |

Took delivery of an Apollo 11 acrylic myself this morning courtesy of Joe at Historic Space. I already have several others from the usual sources and the quality of finish on this Apollo 11 item is as good, if not better, than any I have seen. Nice job Joe!Regards, Rick. |

I didn't mind that ad. As long as the ads are space related, that's fine with me. I'll just be sad when I see an ad for an X-10 camera on the site. Tom |

Sorry Adam, I meant to say the quality of the acrylic is like the ones from cosmosphere, however the design and the way of presentating does more appeal to me than the ones from cosmosphere - you are right !Isn't it amazing what a nice presentation can do to an ugly source artifact ? Florian |
