Welcome back Rob.......aren't you glad youre back. So are we.OK Gang, the Reno Air Races are NEXT WEEK, only a few short days away until it officially begins (09/13-16). If anyone is going PLEASE email me OFFLIST with pertinent info such as where youre staying, dates of travel and if possible, a cell phone for contact. This way we can coordinate throughout the day as well. Also, Friday night we will try and get together for an informal "Geeknick", meeting in the lobby of the Reno Hilton. A lot of the action is at the Hilton and a few of us are staying there. Saturday night was suggested but by the time the Banquet breaks up and we go back somewhere it will be mighty late for us East Coasters, and some of us are leaving Sunday too. This Geeknick, if you've never attended one, is an opportunity for us all to just sorta "hang out", meet and swap and/or sell items. They can be a lot of fun and thanks to Russ Still for putting together the inaugural one. Anyway I also tried to put together a meet during the last launch but very few people contacted me offlist. Of course AFTER the fact I got a TON of emails "Gee I didnt know we were getting together". OK youre reading this, and its all over my email group (Astronauts) so no excuses. If you dont contact me thats gonna be WAY too bad. All are invited. Just drop an email to:

So you got into the astronaut banquet? Or just meeting some of those that will be coming out? |

Hi Tom,Thanks for your offlist email with info. Yes I had to buy a table and the seats went within one day to some friends (Robert here for one)......BUT I've hearda RUMOUR and this is NOT confirmed, but that if you call the Reno Air Race number (dont have it in front of me but its on the site www.airrace.org) and ask to speak with - well garbage, I cant find her name now but Ill check, there may be 1 or 2 individual tickets to the banquet left. Well, I'll be there but alas not until after 1am Saturday morning. So while I won't be able to join you guys on Friday, hopefully I can catch up with all of you on Saturday at the show or Saturday night at the banquet. See you then! |
