Does anyone know of a really good space shuttle flight simulator for PC? I have searched high and low, sideways and inside out and can't find anything. They have flight simulators for everything else but the shuttle, and you think they would have one for that.NASA ought to dumb down their flight software and market it as a game. Is there ANYTHING like this? |

Collshubby, only one I know of is Precison Approach. It lets you try to land the Shuttle. The only two downsides are: 1) No instructions on crontols and how to play, you must either print or read them off the CD-ROM2) I Have not tried this sim with a joystick but it seems like it would be better thatn the keyboard, not to mention more real. I believe you can get a copy of this at the Cape gift shop or through their website. For other sims you might want to try hobbyspace.com, they have a sim/game page with links and I think downloads. Hope this helps. Andrew Ad Astra Per Aspera http://astronauthonor.homestead.com |

All due respect--I have precision approach. It is the sorriest excuse of a game ever. Just my opinion though. |

We took our kids to Space Center Houston a couple of years ago, and they had a room full of pc's there with a shuttls simulator on them. I don't know if it is available commercially or if it is even any good (we didn't spend much time on it). Anyway, perhaps this would offer a lead.good luck. |

I know of the sim at the Johnson Space Center....I spent a bit of time on it and actually managed to land it. But it is only a landing sim. They have the same thing at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi as well. The one at Stennis had a full cockpit mock-up as well. Now that would be an excellent game system! |
