Does anyone have an opinion on this Apollo-Soyuz Beta cloth mission insignia from pilot Vance Brand and the letter of authenticity shown with it? eBay 196987248310.

Well, the COA seems to have had a rough 14 years. Was it kept in someone's back pocket!

Unfortunately the Letter of Authenticity is for "25 beta cloth patches" and you are getting ONE beta cloth patch and a COPY of the LOA...

There is nothing on the beta cloth to indicate it is one of the 25 so is it REALLY one of them? Who knows. Give me a copy of the LOA and I can put it with my beta cloth. Need a few more? Make more copies.

It wouldn't have taken a lot of effort to number and sign the individual beta cloth pieces and create individually numbered LOAs.

The seller is asking for $31 (at least as the opening bid) which is not out of line, if not even a little cheap, for a pristine Apollo-Soyuz Test Project patch with cutting lines visible and without any provenance. Another example (without LOA) sold in December for $49.

So if you are able to get it for the opening ask or a little bit more, then you can just consider the copy of the LOA "gravy."
